The Blurb:
“Six
years on and you’re still as in love with me as you were when you left.
You never stopped loving me, you never could. You didn’t leave because
you didn’t love me.”
After
running from the truth for six years of her life, Austin Pearson
decides it’s time to come home to life in Point Arena. What she finds is
broken relationships and broken hearts and the same love that consumed
her years ago.
When confronted with the love of her life, Austin has to decide between giving in, giving up or hiding all over again.
Will
Tyler Armstrong be enough to crack the secrets that drove the woman he
loved away when they were nineteen or are they destined to love other
people? What happens when he finds himself living everyday with Austin
and realising that feelings he thought had diminished flame up and take a
hold of his life? What happens when fires burn brighter than ever and
the secrets of the past come tumbling out?
Is love enough to get them through what life has in store for them?
My Review:
ARC copy of the book had been sent
to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
So, I finally got my hands on a full copy of this book and what can I say?
Well here's the original review based on the first 10 chapters........
First things first... I know that Kirsty is worried about this review. I know this as I have the privilege of
being friends on Facebook with this very talented young lady and she is
also a fellow admin on a fanfiction group on the same site. I also
know that she doubts her ability..... well she shouldn't.
From the first paragraph I was hooked and wanted to read more.
So many questions ran through my mind reading the first chapter;
Why did Austin leave?
Does Tyler really love his fiancee?
Tasha is a bitch (not a question but statement of fact).
I
loved the flashback to before she ran, I felt the love between the two
main characters and it only added to sense of both Austin and Tyler's
pain as the story moved a long.
'He was nineteen and hopelessly in love with the most perfect girl ever and he wanted this perfect for her.'
For
Tyler, it was the pain of seeing his first love who had abandoned him
all those years ago. For Austin, it was the pain of trying to contend
with the love of her life moving on with another woman.
'The boy is pretty much in love with the wrong girl.' (or is he............ strokes imaginary beard.)
It
was heartbreaking to read about how Austin was trying to, once again,
find her place in a town and amongst people who had moved on (but had
not forgiven or indeed forgotten) in her six year absence.
'I think it's best you leave, Austin, and let us have a family discussion.' - OUCH!
Overall,
I loved these first few chapters and i'm really looking forward to
reading the whole book; A book which, incidentally, is out on my
birthday (28th June 2013) and which is also Kirsty's mum's birthday too!
(so if anyone wants to treat me, hint hint...)
As i've said before, Kirsty is a very talented author and I truly feel that she has a great future ahead of her.
My only problem? No Cowboys or Rockstars in it...... yet. (Kirsty understands!)
Oh and did I mention that Natasha is a B.I.T.C.H???
My rating? Based on what i've seen so..... far 5 out of 5.
I stick by the five out of five rating!
I really enjoyed this....it's an original, sometimes heartbreaking story and I expected nothing less from the young Miss Still.
At times, I found certain characters frustrating (I wanted to slap Tyler at times).
I also added Austin's mum to the bitch list as she was horrible for the majority of the story. She slightly redeemed herself in the end in my world......slightly. If I were Austin, I wouldn't have been so forgiving but hey I'm a Cancerian and we tend to hold a grudge.
The ending perfectly sets up the next book and I could imagine Kirsty sitting at her computer stroking an imaginary beard, laughing manically!
Oh and did I mention that Nastasha was bitch? I did???? Well she's an even bigger one later on..........
I look forward to the next one Miss Still!
My rating? 5 out of 5.
